Hi, Im Lizzie and im 13 years old. I currently live in Devon, England, but we may be moving into the Blackwood area of Adelaide. I am deeply thinking about Blackwood school, since it has an intrest in the performing arts, and I am really into that stuff. I really hope im welcome. :)My mum and dad are also on here:notworthy:Their username is TiddlyPush(Dont know why...). If I could meet other people of my age aswell, that would be great!

Of course you are welcome Lizzie. Blackwood is a good school and they are building up their performing arts. What sort of performing arts are you interested in? A lot of the girls in my daighter's dance classes are at Blackwood high.

My son who is just 17 goes to Blackwood High, it has a good reputation. My daughter who is 11 goes to the Panache dance school in Blackwood, which is very good also. Blackwood is a nice place to live and not too far from the beach or city, I am sure you will like it, if you have any questions about the school, feel free to PM and I can get Adam to write back with anything you want to know, bye Gina

Thanks for all the welcomes. Yeah I hope I'll like it. I love comedy and Musicals with meaning, if you know what I mean, like Wicked(which is damm amazing, lolx) and Billy Elliot and The lion king, I don't really like the ones that are just there for the sake of it... I have been dancing since I was 1 and I go to a theartre arts school here in England call Stagecoach. I have a 'lovely'(according to my mum) suprano voice(misspelt) Oh and I must ask, I have a HUGE phobia of spiders, how do you cope with that 'Hunstman' spider?

Mum here, glad you are doing your own research on moving to Oz as it is a big decision to make and one that will effect all of the family and not to be made lightly.

I hope you can carry on with your hobbies when we move as well as find new interests as it is very important that you settle into your new life quickly.

Hi Lizzie

We moved here when my daughter Lucy was 10 - she used to do Theatretrain in the UK and we spent a lot of time looking for something similar here. After a few unsuccessful try-outs we settled on the Australian Girls Choir for her - she is now in the top level - Performing. She too sings soprano and has had some great experiences there, including appearing in The Boy From Oz with Hugh Jackman here, and going on tour with the choir to Tasmania last year (she was away on her 13th birthday!) She also gets to perform at many shows and events, such as sporting events, singing carols at the airport, and singing at various conferences and dinners with the choir. They do a lot of choreography and have a specialist dance troupe within the choir also.

She is now at High School, and has individual singing lessons there once a week, as well as being in the school concert choir. In a month or so she will be in their school musical of Oliver, and she is also in a production that a school friend of hers is putting on called Perfectly Persephone (she's Persephone) which is a musical based on a Greek Myth. A lot of the other cast members in that (including the two directors) went to see Wicked in Melbourne at the start of the July school holidays - Lucy has sung a lot of the Wicked songs with the choir and is desperate for us to go see it too!
