Pubs/bars to watch the football in?

Hello all,

Moving over in August, I'm wondering if there are any places in Adelaide where you can go and watch the football (i'm presuming it's on between 11pm and 3am) other than just staying at home or watching it with a few people in your lounge of an evening?

Cheers,

Rich

P.S. I'm a spurs season ticket holder but please don't hold this against me...:nah:

There's not really that many good places to go watch the games, three places where you will have most luck are the Elephant (a british pub), the rosemont (a sports bar) and the casino. The elephant has a good atmosphere, not too many football watchers though. And no offence, but spurs arent normally the first choice of show in the football games!!!

Touche! I'll just have to open a Spurs supporters members club in my garage for all the supporters out there (all 2 of you). I'm not too bothered about watching them - just going to the pub to watch some footy!

Nor is anybody else.:biglaugh::biglaugh:

If you chat up the bar staff you'll be alright. Foxtel show any premiership game live by way of the 'red button'.

Hello, I'm not sure about Spurs matches in particular but the only place I can watch boxing is a little place called the Fifth Quarter on Brebner drive, West Lakes.

I have 2 friends who are already in some sort of Spurs supporters club (not sure the exact details!!).

And don't forget it's called Soccer over here! Once you get a taste of Adelaide United you will soon convert!!!!

there are lots of games on the tv via foxtel (sky)but the timings are not to clever so it might be best to record them to watch at a more sensible time at home .

Hows things down the lane..??, wanted to get my last visit in before we left but nover managed it....had some great times close to the drummer man .....yid army;)

Get foxtel IQ and record the games. You actually get MORE live premiership games here than back in Uk as it obviously has not attendance affect. Ig you get foxtel IQ (sky plus) you can record all the games you want, and then watch them back. Also worth getting Setanta Sports (for the mega price of $15 per month to get all the FA cup games, Euro (spanish, italian) leagues, and also all the live 6 nations rugby. Although not found anywhere (pub) to watch them live, normally the show the replays at evening times in the pubs.

Hi there,

Just got back from the lane watching us outplay the gooners. It's all good there. The drummer is still on! New stadium plans exciting everyone especially when we all get squished leaving.

Cheers for the foxtel tip

Hi Rich

If your struggling to find a pub to watch the matches follow this link and watch every Premiership game live on the internet. Usually runs about a minute or two behind 'live' tv but worth it all the same. If you have a laptop plug it into the Plasma and watch it on your main tv. Picture obviously isnt as good but if your a footy nut like me (all things Everton), then its well worth it and doesnt cost a penny!! You get the odd dodgy link but other than that Id say 90% of the time works fine.

Hi Rich,

We went over on a reccie trip in September, and my other half (life-long Ipswich Town supporter, but don't hold THAT against him!) managed to watch The Championship in a sports bar on the front in Glenelg, though I can't for the life of me remember what it was called (sure someone knows!). They had a ton of screens and happily put the footy on one of them when asked..... I think that might have been the deciding moment for Ben - he was getting a bit worried up to that point......... ;)

Funnily enough, we're on the same timeline as you, and we live in Slough - must be something about the Thames Valley......

There is a sports bar at the end of Hindley Street. They have loads of tv's with all kinds on.

Its full of backpackers and young uns so gets very boisterous.

When i used the toilet i caught somebody sniffing some white powder which is always a bonus!
