Just a quick note to say hello to folks on here and introduce ourselves.

 

We are Kraig(41) and Jacky(46), arrived on a provisional 475 visa from Burnley via Machester on Singapore Airlines in Australia on Dec 29th 2008, had 9 days in NSW and then flew to Adelaide on 7th Jan to take up our OAA, a small, clean unit in the heart of the city, We stayed here 3 weeks and then secured a rental at Lockleys in the Western Suburbs near Henley Beach. We have spent the last few weeks part furnishing and buying the things we took for granted were there when you opened the cupboard in the UK......

 

I'm a plumber and Jacky is a quality assurance manager, I have just taken work at Toms Carwash, fulltime, valleting cars for now until I get my plumbing license and Jacky is still looking for work despite applying for dozens of jobs she has had no success, not even an interview up to now, fingers crossed this will change soon.

 

We both enjoy eating out, socialising, meeting new people, going to the beach and lots of things connected with the great outdoors. I myself am a keen cyclist and looking forward to putting some km's in on the flat roads for a change, am getting too old for them hills......

 

Anyways, enough babbling from me for now and a big HELLO to all on the forum and hope to meet up somewhere soon.

Hi, welcom!

 

Not entirely certain where Lockleys is, but we are in the eastern 'burbs, as are some of the others.

 

There are often meet ups arranged on the forum, keep a close eye on it....................we get to a few, but mainly the daytime ones, if the oh isnt playing golf!!!!

Hi There,

 

How are you finding things near Lockleys? We are still waiting for our Visa to be approved but I am already looking for the best areas to live/rent! I have noticed lots of golf courses in that area, and as we are mad keen golf fanatics this looked a great area for us to move to!
