Help: newbies arriving
We have finally been granted a visa after waiting for over 12 months- yipee:D
Hope to land in Adelaide 26-27 June after a short stop over in Sydney.
Unfortunately we are not entitled to OAA therefore would welcome any suggestions on accomodation for when arriving and then short or long term rental after that.
My wife will be working at the Lyell Mcewin hospital so we would be looking at rentals in the North Adelaide area even as far as Gawler.
Any help would be welcomed.
Exciting times eh!
I would recommend looking at the government website. SA actually offer relocation assistance to eligible people, airport pickups, orientation and short term rentals.
Another good site for short term rentals is www.stayz.com.au
Looking for longer term rentals check out www.realestate.com.au
Hope that helps.
Thanks Bernie will look at the web sites you listed.
We arrive May 9th and are staying here for the first few weeks:
Right in the city centre and a pretty good price compared to other central places.
Good luck xxxx
Got a friend who runs a resettlement and accommodation finding service, and I know she has recently had a few clients heading for the Lyell McEwen so if you want her details send me a PM and I'll pass on her email addy. Short term furnished rentals are quite tough to find in that area, but I know she has quite a few good inside contacts!
Thanks for that Andy will loook at the said appartments.
Where are you looking to eventually live? We are looking around Gawler or Adelaide Hills as we are not realy beach lovers?
Good luck with your adventure.
Have you seen the SA quality of life map?
The Hills/Mount Barker came up trumps and is in the national top ten.
Hope all the plans are going well.
For rentals and houses to buy try Anne Kane at Century 21 at Mawson Lakes, she will be able to advise you on pricing etcetera. She has helped other friends of mine and is very efficient. her number is 011 61 88289 8808 at home and 011 61 88251 1122 at work.
Good luck, and congratulations.
