australian citizenship Australia Citizenship - What's the update?
justaguy replied to deftown's topic in Visa's and Migration
As per their site it says Our next Citizenship Ceremony is scheduled for Australia Day, Wednesday 26 January 2022 however it depends on number of applicants too so if they get more applicants and go from home affairs they will do it early maybe in November. -

What document did they ask you to upload? Did they ask for this document after the test? -

I have no idea really as I haven’t even applied yet. Maybe an experienced migration agent or lawyer knows about these things. -

Hi Megarand1, when you submitted your application, did you fill the 1300t (Application for Australian citizenship General eligibility) form online or had to download the form, fill it and then uploaded it to your application? I’m confused if the 1300t form can be filled online or has to be downloaded filled and then submitted? Thanks -

Hi everyone. when applying online, do we need to get identity documents certified by JP or online application doesn’t need to be certified and just a scan will do? -

Get the new agreement and all the proof you can gather before applying. The case officers needs to be satisfied about everything before making a decision. They will not reject your case but due to incomplete proof they will delay it and again waste your time. So get all the documents you can and upload them.

I agree renting here is a nightmare. It almost feels like you are going for a job interview rather than looking for a place to rent. Even if you have all the documents ready and everything is good on your end, you will still be brushed aside and not get the property, makes me wonder what criteria are they using to select tenants. The best option will be getting in touch with the owners directly instead of real estate agents as they are useless. Facebook Market Place and Gum Tree is the better place to look for a place to stay. All the best.

I suggest giving Centrelink a call. They will look into your situation and tell you if you are eligible or not and if eligible then how much they will give you. They are providing financial support to new PR holders but best option will be to give them a quick call. All the best.

Thanks mate. It seems to be the only way to get it. Filling the form again and submitting it. I am just coming from their office and they said if I’m in a hurry I can give them a call after two days to get the new Medicare number. If no hurry then I can wait for 3 weeks for the cards to arrive.
-
Thanks, will pass by them tomorrow to see what's going on.

I got in touch with Medicare today regarding my interim medicare cards as they are expiring soon and I haven't received the new permanent cards yet. They told me I have to fill in the Medicare form again, tick on renrollment on the form, send them attested copies of passport and PR Visa proof again to get the new medicare cards. I feel this is waste of time. Did anyone else do this?

Well what did you expect? Of course I gave them what they’re asking. Where did I say I didn’t give them what they’re asking? just asking to find this process strange to reapply again. -

Thanks. Address is correct. Haven’t received it yet as it’s still showing as interim Medicare online too. Seems like they didn’t even send it.
-
It’s still blue and not green yet. Will check with them. Thanks
-
Thanks. Not sure how long it will take them to send. I haven’t received anything from them yet.

All those who got their PRs. Have you got the full Medicare card yet? How did you get it? Online or went to Centrelink directly? Mine is still interim and expiring soon. No info on the site on how to get the full Medicare card that is green colour.

Usually the request for PCC is the last request before the PR. But there is no guarantee as it depends on the case officer who picks your file. Rest assured you're getting it soon so don't worry as the speed of grants is pretty high nowadays.

Not sure about WA but in SA I got it within one day for my daughter.
