    Expired Passport

If your passport has expired then the answer to the question ‘do you have a current passport’ would be ‘no’ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Article on shortage of pet friendly rentals

Of course you are correct. I was not referring to heritage buildings with original features and exposed timber floors. I was referring to most rental properties. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Article on shortage of pet friendly rentals

It makes no sense for landlords to exclude pets. They are limiting their potential market, reducing their yield and any damage caused by the pet gets paid for with the tenants bond anyway. It just doesn’t make sense! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Might be cheaper to just let the property agent doc your bond when you move out. They will have a handyman on their books who will work for a lower rate for the manager. You could pay for it to be repaired only for the dog to do it again before you move out. Nip over to the Sailey, have a wine and chill [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. I've just returned from taking my two sons aged 13 and 15 to the dentist for their 6 monthly check up. Neither needed any treatment, the invoice was as follows 2 examinations $51 each $102 2 x-Rays each @46 $172 Removal of calculus (youngest) $115 The youngest also had a loose tooth which even though I'm pretty sure would have came out on its own just like all the others that came out on their own, it was removed at $158. As a gesture, they didn't charge the gap payment for the removal. Medibank coughed up $263.50 Leaving me with $208 to pay Somehow I feel like I've had my pants down! Is this the norm? Cheers

Am I paying too much for kids Dental?

All sorted, we have since been taking them to a Medibank preferred dentist and now we pay next to nothing. The previous dentist was obviously bending us over. That being said, it now transpires the younger one needs a brace and even with the new dentist it's going to be $5000 Hey Ho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Selling UK Property

Did you give anyone power of attorney to sign on you're behalf in the U.K.? If not it would just mean them sending the paperwork over here and you sending it back. Sold 2 since I've been here and both times used a UK conveyancer. Can't imagine why you would use an Australian one, they wouldn't know the process Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Mortgage Broker

I have used Katie Costa from Rise High Financial on numerous occasions. I can highly recommended her and she goes out of her way, coming to your house after hours of it suits. She will bring all paperwork to you for signing (our previous broker made us go to the bank in the city!) Then she will keep on top of your loans and negotiate a lower rate if they are no longer competitive. I will PM you her contact details Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Buying a house in Adelaide

Yes it's still available. If buying a new house or apartment, I would encourage you to find something with some scarcity value. New properties in 'Lego land' type developments will take some time to be worth what you paid for them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    long term rentals

Hi there! There is a Facebook page called Adelaide Rental Property you could check out, there's plenty of lease breaks and private landlords advertising direct on there. However, I would think Realestate.com.au would have the most choice. Many people obtain rentals by just showing their bank statement or job offer, but your application will be getting compared to anyone else's who wants to rent the property and theirs may be more favourable if they have a checkable rental history. Some rental managers won't accept an application from someone who hasn't seen the property, and you would be unwise to apply for a place you hadn't checked out in any case. Landlords are keen for tenants to move in as soon as possible so any that are willing to wait for you to arrive would raise some suspicion? Might be better to arrange a short term rental on arrival then look for somewhere more permanent once you have had chance to look around. There are members on here who offer short term rentals Hope that helps a little

Am I paying too much for kids Dental?

Thanks for the replies. Turns out they used to go to the school dentist until the eldest got referred elsewhere as he needed a brace. This private dentist then referred us on to an orthodontist but did the follow ups from then on. After a year or so and $000s later, the brace came off but my wife continued taking them back to the private practice. I had no idea how much it was costing until I went for the first time the other night and got a bit of a shock! We have to book the school dentist during working hours so I'll have to work out if it's worthwhile one of us having time off to take them back there. Thanks again

    building contractors licence

I would suggest contacting the Master Builders Association as they can help and advise you on what to do to get your license as well as help with the interview process.

Oops that's the one I was thinking of. No idea about the coopers one. Must have been distracted by the thought of beer.

    Coopers Brewery info?

Can't help with the tour but the water dispenser is a charity fund raiser. For a small donation you can fill you own containers. It's want to be the freshest cleanest water you can get. All money raised is spent locally.

    Half sober realestate article

Gee thanks for clearing that up Notapom, for a minute there I thought I'd completely missed the bit that said 'coastal suburbs in SA have the best growth potential' and mistakenly thought it was talking about spectacular views of the Sydney harbour bridge and how much you would have to pay for a property with such a view. You're such a clever chap, thanks for sharing
  25. Steve_H

    Half sober realestate article

Lol, There is nothing in the first article that suggests highest growth areas to be near the sea (unless you know of somewhere in SA that you can see the Sydney Harbour Bridge!) Maybe you should read it again
