  1. Working with 489

I work for an IT Consulting company in Sri Lanka. We have a branch in Mel CBD but it's not an office where anyone operates from...all employees working for the Aus branch works at customer locations all over Aus 100% of the time so it's just where the business registered address only. One of our customers is from Shepparton and I'm required to work on a project for them in Shepparton. The Shepparton zip code is in a regional area My 489 is from SA..... The question is... if I work for the Aus Branch (Mel-CBD) BUT is required to Work 100% from Shepparton.... is this in-line with the laws and regulations of the 489 taking into consideration my 489 is from SA. Note that my wife and son will be living in SA (which is regional everywhere) and I will be commuting every 2-3 weeks back to Adelaide for a few days. Regards Chris
  2. Hi everyone! Finally got my 190! I'm moving to Adelaide at the end of June, and in the process of finalizing my shared accommodation for the first three months. Just wanted an opinion, in terms of quicker access to the CBD, which is a better option: Fitzroy near North Adelaide, or Frewville just off Glen Osmond Road. (Getting a similar deal at both places.) Cheers.
  3. Hello Everyone, The plan is to meet up and make some new friends on Friday 2nd October from 7pm onwards in Adelaide CBD at The Gallery Rooftop Bar which can be found just off Waymouth St. As always there is no charge for any of this, you just purchase your own food and drinks (the venue is free to get into). It's always a great chance to meet new people and have a bit of a laugh. It's open to anyone who is 18 or over. Please register your interest for the event below, and feel free to invite others. The bar does not take bookings for Friday nights so we will have to find a table when we get there. They have a great menu which can be found here: http://www.galleryadelaide.com.au/pdf/food.pdf To find the Gallery bar, walk down Cordwainers Lane (just off Waymouth Street) and you will see the entrance on your right (a big glass door). Take the stair or the lift up to the top floor. If there are any newbies who are a little shy or just don't fancy walking in on their own then feel free to PM me and I'll be more than happy to meet you outside and walk in with you. We have set up a Facebook event which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/740953639342659/ For those that aren't keen on Facebook then feel free to PM me (on here or on Facebook), or ask any questions on this thread. Everyone and anyone (over the age of 18) is very welcome: all nationalities, backgrounds and cultures - the more the merrier! Karen
  4. Hello Everyone, Just a little reminder that the meet up tonight is happening at Madame Hanoi Bar & Restaurant in the Adelaide Casino on North Terrace in the CBD (practically on top of the train station). Official meeting time is 7pm, but a few of us will be there from 6.15pm. As always there is no charge (just buy your own drinks and food). We don't have a table booked as yet, but they do have tables available from 8.30pm if anyone fancies some food. Since it's in the Casino, it may be a good idea to ensure that you have photo ID on you and that you check out their dress code - it actually seems quite chilled but states as follows: Dress code The following will not be permitted at Adelaide Casino: Torn clothes Gang patches or other insignia Dirty clothes or footwear Clothing featuring offensive language or imagery As always: if there are any newbies who are a little shy or just don't fancy walking in on their own then feel free to PM me and I'll be more than happy to meet you outside and walk in with you For those of you who are interested, we have set up a Facebook page which can be found here: *event passed -FB link removed For those that aren't keen on Facebook then feel free to PM me (on here or on Facebook), or ask any questions on this thread. As always: everyone and anyone (over the age of 18) is very welcome: all nationalities, backgrounds and cultures - the more the merrier!

  6. Hi all I work for a fab elearning company in the CBD called e3learning (http://e3learning.com.au/) who are currently recruiting for an IT Support team member. Need to be IT savvy, have great customer service skills and be a quick learner. It is a great place to work, on South Terrace so handy for the tram, very laid back and multi-cultural place to work and we have just been bought out by Open Universities Australia so prospects are good. Salary will be dependent on experience. If you are interested then please drop me a pm and I will give you the email address you need to send in a CV. Ali
  7. Hi all, Does anyone know of any free tennis courts near to the CBD where you can just turn up and play and not have to book? Cheers
  8. We received the e-mail this morning to state that we did not gain the OAA package but still got the Meet and Greet Service. I would like to ask any members on this site if you aware of any Short-Term Rental Accommodation for 4 Adults and one child. We would like it from the Wednesday 10th February for approximately 4 weeks duration, but that can be either reduced or extended if needed to be. Ideally we would like to live near the CBD as both the Wife's and my job are just a little north of the CBD. Thanks...........................
