  1. Hi guys, I need your advice. I am working with a company that agreed to be my sponsor, but because they are afraid to invest and fail in the visa process, they asked me to organise a migration agent. Could you please advice me which migration agent will be efficient, helpful and has a wide experience in 457. Thanks a lot!! Silvia

    Adelaide for Xmas :)

Hi Guys Been on the site for a while now but haven't posted anything yet so heres the first! My Partner and I are moving to Adelaide early/mid December!!! We cannot wait as have been going through the process now for what seems like AGES!! Partner is coming over on a 457 visa and I'm just on a WHV but hoping to get added to his 457 after a few months of being there! Has anyone else been through this process? We've just started applying for rented accommodation as we know what area we will be living in now, which is another step in the right direction is there any other sites, other than real estate, that anyone else has used? We've also been looking for short term rentals but as we're arriving just before Xmas, its not the best time to be looking for something more permanent! Nice to know we are leaving England as the weather is getting much colder now! Can't wait for a sunny christmas, even if it will be a little strange!! Also, does anyone know of any dance groups (just for fun)? Be nice to make some friends who have similar interests See you all soon
  3. Hey guys, Just been sent a contract for my brother to consider for gaining a 457 visa from the agent myself and my partner are using for our PR visa. They want to charge him £900+VAT up front and £900+VAT with the submission of his application to DIAC. I can't put my finger on it but this seems very high to me. Maybe because a) they're asking for it before we have even found a sponsor and b) because unlike mine and my partners application where we don't have to pay the 2nd instalment until after we have been granted our visa he has to pay before he knows if he has it or not. I have tried to explain to the agent that my brother had to leave Oz after trying to gain a sponsored visa onshore because he had worked too many hours on his bridging visa whilst applying. Making us a little nervous that he might be refused offshore but they aren't really having an open discussion about this. I'm guessing most people find a sponsor and then apply for a 457 visa but do they use agents and if so how much did they pay? Did anyone find an agent that helped to find a sponsor? The agent has said he has a few contacts looking for someone just like him (chef) but should he wait for a job offer before paying the first fee? It's a lot of money on top of the actual visa fees too. Thanks Jade

  5. I'm duplicating from my PIO post in case anyone on here has some SA experience... Just wondering if my employer sent in a paper Sponsorship and Nomination if I can submit for the 457 online? (I don't want to wait for post etc; my employer submitted paper apps as they were advised they take the same time to be evaluated) And also if there's any benefit to submitting in either way? Also my employer hasn't had the sponsorship approved yet nor has my nomination been accepted, but both have been submitted and he has a CO assigned and is preparing further information for DIAC. I'm eager to get the 457 submitted, I have everything almost in order (awaiting a few letters as I'm front loading, they should be here this week) and I want to try and get ahead of the festive rush/ holidays. Do people generally wait for the sponsorship and nomination to come through before submitting? or do i just bang it in and sit back and wait? Any advice most appreciated! Thanks, Caz
