  1. Hi everyone, Thanks for clicking on this message and apologies if it's not appropriate for this board. If you're a US citizen or lived there previously and then obtained/applied for your PR in Australia, you can definitely provide help. I'm preparing for my PR application which includes police check, and unfortunately I need to reapply for the State police check since the one I used before has expired. State of California requires "original" fingerprint form (FD 258) only. It would be fascinating if I can get one in Australia because this will make the process much faster than waiting for it to arrive from the states. Do you happen to have some leftover or know anyone who might have the form? I'll happily provide compensation. Lots of time an money can be saved if I get this single sheet of card without waiting.. I'll look forward to hearing positive responses! Thanks so much for reading. Have a wonderful one
  2. Hi Everyone, I'm applying for citizenship by descent as my father (now deceased) was born in Perth in 1943. In application form 118 it states: "You will need to provide original overseas penal clearance certificates from each country where you spent more than 90 days" I'm thinking this means 90 days cumulative rather than 90 days continuous? But thought to ask you guys for confirmation as I'm not looking forward to obtaining one for Malaysia as they stipulate you must collect it in person...after 3 months! Thanks in advance, AndyC

  4. My family and I came over on a 475 State Sponsorhip Visa, however since then, my current employers are sponsoring me for permanent residence (Subclass 857) Because we have only been in South Australia for the past 9 months, how do we go about gaining our photographic passport photo signed, demonstrating two years. The original people who signed all our family's previous photo's for our original police certificate for immigration purposes have now moved on and would be extremely difficult for us to gain any other person to sign our photo's from the UK. How do we go about this? What is the process to meet this criteria to gain a ACPO Police Certificate for Immigration Purposes.
  5. Last night (Saturday 20th Feb) at approximately 01:20 am I was driving well within the speed limit of 60 KM. Police pulled me over and I wound my window down. The first thing to policeman said to me - can you get out of the car so I can breathalise you. Scared because so many different people told me various stories about the Police and what is the legal limit to drink alcohol, whilst driving. I had been to our first Ozzie BBQ that evening and I had only had two bottles of Lager, the most recent one only an hour before I was driving home. The Policeman asked me what I had drank and when was the last time I drank, which I mentioned about an hour ago. I took the test and passed what a relief. Then he tooked me to may car and pointed to my back number plate and stated that he could charge me with a $550 fine for inappropriate number plates, I was shocked nothing wrong with the number plates. The Policeman mentioned and showed me that the background of the number plate is flaking away and chipping away. Nothing wrong with the actual large black solid numbers, just the surrounding plate. He mentioned that I have to go to the driving licence place and ask and pay for a replacement number plate, which will take three weeks to arrive. This is weired I understand if the acutal plate numbers were falling off or unreadable, even if its covered in dirt and needs cleaning so the Police can read the number plate. But a bit of flaking is way over the top.
