Hi guys, I'm looking to sell my 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer Coupe GLI and though I'd check with the folk here. It's a beautiful car and I absolutely love it but sadly we have to sell it since we're planning to expand the family and need a bigger car. All factory fittings, and has been driven with care. The previous original owner was a lady who's father owned a garage so the car was well looked after even before I bought it in 2013. The car has been regularly serviced and a log book is available. I've changed the timing belt, water filter and brake fluids in the last major service (Jan 2015). All equipment, AC & heating works perfectly. It has a 1.5 litre engine with automatic transmission. It has 4 speakers with a Pioneer music system and power steering. 161,089 km $3,900 ono Ping me if you're interested or need to see more pics.

Hello all, I've been scouring carsales.com.au and drive.com.au for well over 6 months now to get an idea of the car market down under, I have seen that used cars in Victoria are consistently cheaper than in SA, the price difference on the particular model i'm looking at is about 3-4K. I think because its a supply and demand thing. So my question is, is it advisable for me to buy a car Melbourne and drive it over Adelaide? If so what is the procedure for registration and stamp duty etc? While googling the subject I found this, So if you are buying from Vic, but don't have a Vic address you can 1. ask the seller if they will let you drive the car back to SA and then cancel the rego and re-register in your name, pay stamp duty in SA (assuming it is already registered). 2. transport the unregistered car back to SA and arrange a RWC and register it in SA, pay stamp duty in SA. 3. obtain a unregistered vehicle permit in Vic, drive the unregistered car back to SA and arrange RWC, pay stamp duty and reg in SA. As far as I know, you won't have the option of transfering into your name in Vic. Also, there is no such thing as an actual 'transfer' of registration between states.. it is always a case of – cancel rego in old state – re-register in new state. Thanks in advance

As this is "the barbie" forum, what better place to talk cars... I'll be arriving in less than 3 weeks and the first job on my list is to buy a used car. I've not lived in Australia since 1999 and a lot has changed in the car market there and in my requirements since then. I'll be looking for a car costing up to $15,000 (though that would be a stretch, would prefer more like $12,000). We're a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 11). I want the kids to be comfortable in the back with rear aircon vents for the summer heat. Also looking for reliability and low service costs. Not concerned about the make or prestige of the car. Would obviously prefer low kms and age. I've been looking on carsales.com.au, but all the models seem so unfamiliar, I'm having trouble narrowing it down. Any suggestions or advice from other recent arrivals who are more used to Vauxhalls than Holdens? Or should I just do the obvious thing and buy a Falcon or Commodore?
