  1. Hello, I will be arriving in adelaide next week on a 12 month working holiday visa. I could do with some help regarding applying for a liscence and possibly sponsership. Basically as far as i can work out, If i apply for an artc i can then apply to do the peer regs course. Which then entitles me to apply for a full liscence. Is this correct. Also if i just get an artc is this alone enough to apply for a sponsership visa? I have applied for sevral positions and have a couple of interviews lined up, Basically though i am here to have a look around and work to fund my stay but if the oppertunity arrises i would like to stay permenantly. Anyone have any ideas on how easy it is to achieve this from a working holiday visa. Thanks
  2. Thank goodness!! Visa stuff is so nerve wracking not to mention time consuming! It took me nearly 3 months to fill out my Onshore Partner Visa Application (Subclass 820). I'm currently on my 2nd One Year Working Holiday Visa (WHV) which finishes in January 2013. My partner and I have been together for 15 months so we thought we'd best submit the application. Apparently there's a 13 month processing period at present!! Well, that's what the automated email said - when you submit your visa app you get an automated email that let's you know they're received your application and also has a list of FAQs. A friend of mine waited 12.5 months for her visa! Anyway, I went trawling the internet for useful info on how to put it together and what to put in it etc, there were some useful posts on various sites but nothing overly detailed, or rather, nothing particularly current. I've written about my personal experiences on my blog: www.kacymru.wordpress.com it also has links to all the forms that I downloaded from the official Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website so I'm hoping people will find it pretty helpful. However please be aware that I am not an expert and don't have any qualifications - it's just about my personal experience with Australian Visa applications and details of how I put it together and submitted it :-) If anyone has any questions then please feel free to ask me - I know how stressful this sort of thing is and sometimes it's just good to chat to someone who's been through it.

    Adelaide for Xmas :)

Hi Guys Been on the site for a while now but haven't posted anything yet so heres the first! My Partner and I are moving to Adelaide early/mid December!!! We cannot wait as have been going through the process now for what seems like AGES!! Partner is coming over on a 457 visa and I'm just on a WHV but hoping to get added to his 457 after a few months of being there! Has anyone else been through this process? We've just started applying for rented accommodation as we know what area we will be living in now, which is another step in the right direction is there any other sites, other than real estate, that anyone else has used? We've also been looking for short term rentals but as we're arriving just before Xmas, its not the best time to be looking for something more permanent! Nice to know we are leaving England as the weather is getting much colder now! Can't wait for a sunny christmas, even if it will be a little strange!! Also, does anyone know of any dance groups (just for fun)? Be nice to make some friends who have similar interests See you all soon
