Motel Recommendations in or around Canberra?

Has anyone been to Canberra and can recommend any motels? I read on TripAdvisor that Queanbeyan is not far ... can anybody recommend any motels there?

It was really good and has a large catering kitchen for you to do your own cooking if you so wish. It is also a stones throw from a little area called Kingston which has some really nice pubs, restaurants and a great deli. They also do bike hire which is great to cycle right round the lake. Its also walking distance to all the govt buildings etc. Basic but certainly clean and friendly and cheap!!

Just been there this weekend, son playing representative rugby for SA, and its a great place to visit. Stayed in Belconnen (Belconnen Football Club) which is about a 20 minute drive from the airport. We had a family apartment with two bedrooms, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen etc and shops just at the back. Handy for the Telstra tower, parliament house etc.

 

Hope you enjoy (don't know how old your girls are but we found a great DFO which my girls loved!!)
