Right - I like a challenge. Let's have a go at this then:

a- attitude. It DOES matter, but not in the 'up yours' sense! Come with the wrong sort and you'll be knackered.

b- balls. Let's face it - if it was easy, everyone would do it, wouldn't they??

c- change. And lots of it. If you don't like it, then you're not going to enjoy the move!

d- driving license. the FIRST thing you should be doing when you get here - makes everything else so much easier.

e- experience. Even if it doesn't turn out to be the right thing for us in the long run (seems impossible at the moment!), at least we've given it a go.

f- friends. You'll miss your UK ones like hell, but how much fun is it making new ones?!

g- go for it! You'll never know if you don't try.

h- hospitality. Adelaide seems to be full of smiling, happy people who will go out of their way to help.

i- immigrants. Let's face it - in the short term, that's what we are. Like it or not! It's up to us to adapt, and not the other way around.

j- jobs. They are out there - if you're prepared to be flexible.

k- kids. The life we can give our little one here is several steps removed from what he would have had in the UK.

l- luck. I'll freely admit that we seem to have had a huge share of it - hoping it passes on to everyone else.

m- money. HOW bad is the exchange rate right now???? :arghh:

n- nicotine. Shop in Singapore - it's bloody expensive to smoke out here.

o- organisation. We came over here with a file full of the necessary paperwork and had everything to hand when we needed it.

p- patience. We've done a LOT of waiting in the past two and a half years.....

    q- qantas. Fab journey over.....

r- relax. Once you're here, then you've broken the back of what needs doing! Make some time to take it all in.

s- stress. There's no getting around it - at some point, the pressure will get to you. It's how you get over it that matters.

t- tax file number. Another necessity of life, and can easily be applied for on-line as soon as you get here.

u- umbrella. Wish we'd packed one. :biglaugh:

v- views. I used to drive up the A4 to work every morning. Now I drive along the coast for a lot of my journey. Talk about starting the day positively!!

w- work/life balance. Something that my company seems to have figured out and yet seems to be beyond the comprehension of most UK employers.

x- pats. (Nicked from above!). The support is there if you just ask.....

y- YIPPEE!!! We've made it. We finally live in that mythical place called Adelaide. Long may we continue to enjoy it.

z- zzzzzzzzzzzz. You'll be doing lots of it in the first 48 hours. Enjoy!!!
