So, anyone have the winner? Wouldn't have chosen to back him, but I got the winner in the office sweepstake and won $65 for my $5 stake - go Shocking!!!

Yep $1000, usually spread my stake but summat told me to put it all on the nose. Happy days :-)

 

Almost didn't, the sportsbet.com website was down until 30 mins before the off.

I was most impressed that my son's teacher let them watch the race at school today! Best way I can think of to bring home the reality of how maths helps in "the real world"!

I got 1st & 2nd - was well chuffed. Only few of us in the office so I am $30 richer.

 

Was great - they orderd in lunch and cracked open the Veuve

 

I got a huge Welcome to Australia and a Happy 1st Melbourne Cup - was great day, finished off by the Twilight dance and the kids' school - perfect
