some companies do accept UK no claims here so it may affect your insurance here, how much damage is there, if it's a few hundred it may be worth paying yourself if you can, if it's a few thousand it may be worth risking higher insurance costs here.:)

I insured my cars here with SGIC and they gave me full no claims discount and protected discount for life based on my driving record in the UK, the did not ask for any proof but may well want some if I caused an accident.:)

I would just start from scratch here.

    I only pay $400 a year fully comp for a 2002 3.8 V6 Holden Belina VX.

We needed proof on our insurance, we had insurance details from UK. Do you have your no claims protected on your current insurance?

I brought my proof of no claims from UK but when I went to insurance my car here I explained I had only just moved here but had a license for 18 years..they immediately gave me full no claims without the proof

We were the same, we brought no claims certificates with us from the UK and they transferred it no questions asked. We insure with SGIC and we haven't had any bother.

The insurance company seen my Uk licence, Full Bike , car, PSV and HGV and automaticly gave me full no-claims.

Didnt need to have proof of previous no-claims from the UK
