    Hi,

We are like many others on here taking a trip down the great ocean road to spend 3 nights in Melbourne and I was wondering what are the best things to do/see in Melbourne, taking into account we only have 3 days and have two small children.

    Thanks in advance,

    Kerry x

Luna park - they do a wrist band that lasts you all day.

We loved the aquarium - fantastic penguins.

Went on the puffing billy up the dandedongs.

Take lots of money - you'll need it!!!!

The Melbourne Aquarium is pretty good, great if you go in time with the feeding times, and see a diver hand feed a shark.

Although a long trip and it can be cold, going to see Penguins on Parade is great fun on Philip Island.

Depending when you go there is a free christmas display in the Crown Casino, can't remember if it was every half hour or so, and of an evening there are torches outside throwing flames into night sky, I would also try for a tour round the MCG.

Finally a walk round Melbourne Goal, and see all the death masks and Ned Kelly's armour.

Also just check on if there are any festivals on, last year we saw a bird man event and water skiing whilst just sitting on the side of the Yara...

I know it's not for the kids, but just have a wonder round, docklands area is nice, southgate is brilliant, Flinders St station is nice to be by, and maybe get a tram down to St Kilda. There is so much to see there.

    Melbourne is a fab city!

Weve not got any children but the Luna Park looked fun and Im sure the aquarium will be great.

Have a wonder around the laneways in the city as they are fab and head up to Lygon Street for great Italian restaurants. The Free City tram is great to have a quick free tour and it has a running commentary as you go around with tips on where to go etc. Im pretty sure there is an interactive kids museum in federation square but I cant think of the name.
