Hi,

 

Me and my partner are due to touch down in Adelaide on the 1st Feb 2010.

We have applied for both meet and greet and OAA Services.

We applied for this 4 weeks ago, but have not heard anything back.

What are the chances of getting this accommodation?

We are just looking for a 1 bedroom apartment, close to, or in the cbd area.

We have also applied for the OAA, we are under the impression you find out 3 weeks before date of travel, so you should here something this week or next, I have seen posts from people saying they didn't get it so they must inform either way. Good luck with your move and let us know if you get it.

Hi

We had applied for both and heard few days before Christmas that we had not got OAA. We had put three areas and three bedroom as two kids. We are flying on 18th of this month. Did not arrange meet and greet until I knew we had accomodation which we booked last week (private rental). Within two days of telling them the address, meet and greet was confirmed.

Jumping in with another question which probably has an obvious answer: what is OAA? Is it an agency where you pay for support in relocating?

On Arrival Accommodation its similar to council housing in the UK.

 

I think you can get it for 6-8 weeks.

 

Lots of people try to get it but only a select few ever get it.

If you are lucky enough to get OAA, you can have it for up to 12 weeks. Basic but cheap.

Do you have contact details on how to arrange OAA? Not that we are going any time soon but would be good to store the info for the future.
