How long is a piece of string really mate....it all depends on how much hunting you do there is quite a lot of rentals out there it all depends on what and where you want to live...

Depends on which area you are looking in, what you are looking for, etc etc, but as a general rule of thumb, I'd allow about 3-6 weeks: First week to get over the jetlag, get your TFN, banking, phones etc sorted out, and drive around a bit to decide roughly where you're looking. Second and third week to start doing the 'opens', then maybe a week or two after you've had your application accepted before you can move in. It can work a little faster, but also can take a little longer, so you'd really not want to be under pressure too much just in case...

Hi - weather will be way too cold in May for using a pool. It's the same weather in May here as it normally is in late September in the UK. It's the low season in regards to holiday home bookings, so you can pretty much do it last minute. The best websites are www.stayz.com.au or www.takeabreak.com.au. Make sure you choose "Adelaide and surrounds" so you don't end up in a regional holiday area. Good luck!

Hi we are staing at Homes Down Under, short term rental accommodation, furnished rentals in port Noarlunga Adelaide, South Australia

Very reasonalbe with the price which includes all utility bills and free braodband.

The trains station is about a 10 - 15 minute walk and takes approx 40 mins by train to get to the city. Hope this helps.

No offence meant to anyone who lives down there, but Port Noarlunga wouldn't be my idea of "as close to the city as possible"! If I were you, I'd try and look a little closer in - you should be able to find somewhere within 20 minutes to half an hour tops from the CBD.

Hi again, will Glenelg be really quiet in May, or will there still be some life about the place i.e restaurants etc open. Not after a night life in any case as got a 1 year old who likes her routine of bed before 8.00. Just not sure wether to go for the city or glenelg now. and probably a hotel - anyone with any suggestions would be really appreciated -looked at various sites and reviews all over the place - need parking and internet. many thanks

Glenelg is nice all year round - obviously the beach won't be busy in May but the bars, cafes and restaurants will all still be open. It's a nice place to base yourself to have the best of both worlds - beach and easy access to the City (via car or public transport)

We lived in Glenelg for the first 4 months of our life downunder (from Feb to end May) and it was always busy. It was a fantastic place to start out but too busy and noisy for us long-term.

    Enjoy!!
