Driving in Adelaide

Hello. I'm a permanent resident and have a South Australian driving license. I just have the compulsary third party insurance. Does anyone know if my parents can drive my car with their UK license without any other insurance arrangements? I think its the car that is insured rather than the driver in South Australia? Has anyone lent their car out to visiting relatives and know about this? Thanks!

Yes Rego covers you for third party (would not repair your car). However should they be the unlucky ones at fault and injured someone. They may have a rather large claim that would be through the civil court..

Maybe worth a few hundred dollars and get comprehensive.

    That's my thought anyway

anyone with any licence can drive any car on the rego insurance, however it only covers third party injury, so if they have an accident they have to pay for both vehicles to be repaired, but would cover any claim for injury.
