Got the all important job!!!

Well as the title says Graham got the job he had been waiting to hear on!! Starts next week. We have been here almost 7 weeks and he has been seriously looking for about 5 and actually applying for things and going through recruitment agencies. He is going to be Adminstration Manager for a Govt Health Research Programme. 3 yr contract excellent salary and really good benefits and flexible working. We are so happy!! He should bring home the same as our combined salary at home and with the cheaper cost of living (rent etc) we should be much better off especially when I go back to work after Bubs arrives.

 

So just to give some hope to those back in the UK about the job situation if you are looking for this type of work. We were really worried before we came out as we both had good jobs and its such a gamble but it seems to have paid off for us. I appreciate how lucky we are as this doesn't happen for everyone. There does seem so to be a fair bit of administration management work but things do seem to take a lot longer here to apply and then hear back. He has applied for about 6 other jobs and the closing date hasn't even passed yet!!

 

Anyway, congrats to Graham (you deserve it my lovely) and lots of luck to those out there still looking...
