SA Sponsrship

    Guest Khurram

As i searched daily the vacant job position for my skills as an Oracle Specialist, i find most fo the jobs for my skill sets are in sydney and melbournce. I already got MIODL ASCO code 2231-79 (Oracle Specialist) but in vane due to revoke of MODL point.Well, for me the choice was between Sydney and Melbourne cause Sydney or Melbourne would be good places to start looking for any IT roles. But after refusal from victoria it seems to me that it is just like gambling. They straighlty flat denied that i am not metting their industry demand , while i have proven track for 8+ years of cometitive experince in my field As well when i seek at seek.com.au most of my skill sets jobs are on hit list there but dont knwo for which industry standard they are talking.Anway i need not to show my body :) come to the point, now i am planning to head Adelaide.

My question is that when load of my skill set jobs state can refuse my sponsorship then what are the premutation for Adelaide where my skill sets job are 9% of the melbourne.Should i courage to apply or sit a side idle.

I think I get the jist of what you are asking...

You are on the [current] skills list for SA so you may be able to get State sponsorship but will have to go through the initial skills assessment (go to Australia Computer Society website for full details) and pass the English test.

This aside you could always contact the agents advertising on Seek directly and ask their opinion on the skill set requirements / job market in your field / likelihood of regional work sponsorship. Visa options for Employer Sponsorship:

Employer Sponsored (Temporary) Visa 457 , With this visa you can employ overseas workers for a period of between one day and four years.

    or

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass 119/857),

This visa allows you and any dependent family members included in your visa application to live as permanent residents in Australia.

    Hope this helps !??

    Regards

My profession is in demand list of both state victoria and south australia. But scare after getting refusal from melbourne to apply 176 at South Australia. What are the success rate of South Australia.

I have already gotten +ve skill assesment from ACS for the modl 2231-79 (Oracle Specislist) my ASCO code is also on CSL.

Did Victoria say why they had refused you? Was your occupation on their occupation in demand list?

Yes my profession is on there occupation demand list and as well on DIAC SOL ,my profession is also on MODL and CSL.

they replied me with the following email

    Dear Khurram SIDDIQUI,

Thank you for your application for sponsorship under the 176 - Sponsored visa scheme.

Following a review of the information you have provided to the Skilled and Business Migration Program, we regret to inform you that the Victorian Government is not in a position to sponsor you under the Skilled – Sponsored scheme.

We consult with industry to determine which occupations are currently "in demand" in Victoria, and seek advice to determine whether individual applicants would be "employable" or not for the current Victorian labour market. We do this because we need to ensure our sponsored migrants have the skills and specialisations on our Skilled – Sponsored Eligibility List which are in shortage in the current market, and to ensure that skilled migrants have a realistic chance of employment when they arrive in Victoria.

In this case, our advice indicated that your skills and experience did not match the current industry requirements. This decision was based on an evaluation of your qualifications and your years of work experience, taking into account the current needs within Victoria’s regions and industries.

Note that we would be happy to reassess your application should you be able to obtain a valid offer of employment in your nominated occupation within Victoria, and your occupation remains eligible for sponsorship.

Information about other visa options is also available on the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website www.immi.gov.au.

On their reply i asked them

I don't understand is how the ACS can assess me as having the skill necessary for the MODL 2231-79 (Oracle Specialist) but that the sate of Victoria industry panel seem to think that I don't have those same skills. Why my application was rejected. Sir,If someone with 8+ years of experience with skills that are on yours list can be rejected, what does this say for the whole process of assessing suitable applicants.

For me the choice was between Melbourne and Sydney cause both would be good places to start

looking for any IT roles.Sydney is really just too stressed for me, the traffic is a nightmare,

house prices are crazy, people are too busy to be friendly etc. Melbourne is more relaxed, while

still having the assets of a big city like cultural life and a buzz. The houses are lovely there,

large and more affordable than Sydney.I found the melbourne people are very friendly. The

climate there also suits, being not so hot and humid as other cities.

If you go to http://www.seek.com.au and search the job of oracle you will find there 385 jobs which is still open. Its only one website which is showing a benchmark of my jobs skill within yours state city victoria.

    http://www.seek.com.au/jobsearch/index.ascx?DateRange=31&catlocation=1002&statesele cted=true&Keywords=oracle&searchfrom=quickupper&se archtype=again

Sir , i am unable to understand how and what were processed with my resume for which i do not

match in yours state industries requirment,I have multiple disciplinary skills within oracle,as a senior Oracle Develoeper as well Oracle DBA.I am performaing both responsilites in my organization perfectly.Same CV i put up with my ACS assessment and my understanding of the process is that the ACS assessment confirms me that i have worked at a professional level for a designated period of time and lets me apply for a visa and also for SS.When i see the number of job for my skill set at

    http://www.seek.com.au/jobsearch/index.ascx?DateRange=31&catlocation=1002&statesele cted=true&Keywords=oracle&searchfrom=quickupper&se archtype=again

and then see yours evaluation that "my skills and experience did not match the current industry

requirements" make me hurt, sick and confused.I am still unable to understand how come the industry panel reject me though my sets of skills are clearly on the list? When i seek http://www.seek.com.au daily for melbourne jobs, i always find my skill sets job are on hit list. Its not only with that websites , i have plenty of websites forthat bench marked my job and i found Melbourne is on hit list for my category ASCO code 2231-79 (Oracle Specialist).

I would deeply appreciate please make my resume review again and consider my request to re assess me for the ASCO code 2231-79 (Oracle Specialist).

    After then they recently replied

    Dear Khurram SIDDIQUI,

In response to your question, we send applicants’ CVs to our Industry Panel. The Panel assess the skills indicated in applicant's CVs, and then tell us if the skilled migrant is "employable" or not for the current Victorian labour market. We use an Industry Panel because the industry is so competitive in Victoria, and has such specific requirements, that we need to ensure our sponsored migrants have the skills and specialisations on our "Eligibility List” which are in shortage in the current market.

The main aim of the Skilled – Sponsored visa is to help Victorian employers to fill their skills shortages, and the Industry Panel give us an assessment of what these shortages are in relation to individual applicants and their skill set.

Please note that we would be happy to reassess your application should you be able to obtain a valid offer of employment in your nominated occupation within Victoria, and your occupation remains eligible for nomination.

Skilled – Sponsored is not the only visa available to you and I would encourage you to investigate your other options through the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website: www.immi.gov.au.

I hope that this answers your question, best wishes in migrating to Australia.

What you can suggest me , when melbourne state can refuse my case where my skill sets jobs are availiable , how can i expect +ve from SA where only my skill sets jobs are 9% of melbourne.

Besides this what you can suggest me should i continue my further argument to victoria or not, i am really grossed out.

employer sponsorship is not so easy. I am also stuck almost same situation, The only difference is that i am still waiting for any response from Victoria. I applied for many jobs after searching but same reply received that "This role is only for the people who are currently living in Aus on PR."

    Hi Khurram

Have you spoken to a migration agent? I honestly thought that if your occupation was on the states "in demand list" and you met all the criteria then you were awarded sponsorhip?

If you have not spoken to a migration agent for some advice then you might want to add a post on the POMSINOZ site, there are a few migration agents that go onto that site who may be able to assist you with your query. I would say that you should be acting quite quickly though with all the changes that are coming in. No one knows if the changes are going to have a negative or postive impact on applications.
