My Suffolk parents are mid 70's they get their insurance through their Bank. I think most big banks, Barclays/Lloyds etc give free travel insurance for up to 60 days as long as you have one of their 'gold' accounts

Theres alot of travel insurance places - travel agents are expensive, the post office is/was pretty reasonable.

Due to your mil's age hers would be quite expensive though....my mils insurance doubled because she turned 70 whilst here.

Most credit cards do have travel insurance as a perk, as long as the flight/trip is booked on them.

My parents have a credit card that gives them annual travel insurance worldwide. Would it be worth your MIL looking into getting something like that?

Get her to say hi to good old Colchester for me - I used to work at Layer Marney Tower near there.
