    Hi Folks,

Panic has set in. A check of the website today shows that Primary Teachers are no longer on there ( couldn`t see Secondary either )

Phoned the agents who had no knowledge. They have now confirmed that the occupation is no longer on the list. They are contacting SA Gov and will find out what is happening. They are suprised as they didnt think that teaching was going to be affected.

Their advice is to still send in the paperwork and see what happens.

Just our luck as we got all the certified copies back from the solicitor yesterday.

    Regards to all

    Fred:sad:

Thanks for that, unfortunatly that applies to Education officers, whatever they may be. Had it confirmed by the agents yesterday. primary teachers no longer on the list.

We have decided to go to Kiwiland where teachers have been put onto the immediate skills shortage list.

It didnt take much to make us jump, the 495 visa was awful.

So it all starts again, but at least the initial paperwork is of use for NZ

    Regards

    Fred

Sorry to hear that but good luck with the move to NZ. I'm convinced everything happens for a reason the old one door closes and another one opens line. Hope everything works out and you are happy their.

We are also in a similar position as Steve's occupation now doesnt appear on either list. However as we had already had some positive responses from certain employers we have been advised to go down the ENS route instead!!

So we'll see how it all goes. Our problem has been that we had to drag the whole process out in order for Steve to finish his 22yrs in the Royal Marines. We could have gone for State Sponsorship ages ago but it would have run out before we could move!!

I know that with the ENS route Steve will be tied to an employer for a few years but maybe this will be the cross we have to bare!! After all he's been with his current employer for the last 22 yrs so we'll see how he manages three years in the real world!!!!!!!!!! At least he wont have to deploy to Afghanistan!!!!!!

Wish us luck. Fingers crossed we will make it to Adelaide sometime soon!!!

    Gutted for you.

You may find that once settled in NZ you may have an easier route into Oz. You may also find that NZ was the place for you in the first place. It may be a blessing in disguise. A friend of mine went out to NZ on a holiday / gap year and she never came back. She fell in love with the place and one of the locals. ;)

All the very best for your future.
