well guys been over here in the uk for a week and a half and the following says it all, a song and lyrics by peter allan. seen the sun twice......

    stevo

i've been to cities that never close down,

from New York to Rio and old London town,

but no matter how far or how wide I roam,

    I still call Australia home.

I'm always travelIing, I love being free,

and so I keep leaving the sun and the sea,

but my heart lies waiting over the foam,

    I still call Australia home.

All the sons and daughters spinning 'round the world,

away from their family and friends,

but as the world gets older and colder,

it's good to know where your journey ends.

Someday we'll all be together once more,

when all of the ships come back to the shore,

Ill realise something I've always known,

    I still call Australia home.

but no matter how far or wide I roam,

I still call Australia I still call Australia, I still call Australia home.

but no matter how far or wide I roam,

I still call Australia I still call Australia, I still call Australia home

    Stevo...

Aren't you going to post about how cheap everything is over there, and how lovely the pubs are, and what a great sense of humour they have in the UK, and how good the TV/Radio/Press is, and how much culture there is...??

this summer weather here is crap, not been above 23oc, lots of showers, beers warm and tastes funny, pubs are good though, never seen so many bogof offers, they are everywhere, shopping i reckon is slightly cheaper, beer out of the shops is around the same but you get bigger cans, no wonder so much alchohol crime.Another week to go, in nottingham at the moment, then back down south, then alot further south...home!!I'll write a big story then.

I'm from near Colchester too. A little town of inbreds called Halstead - Lovejoy country! Apparently they've had a hot summer over there, the mother in law said it was 19 degrees today - balmy......

The temp here today got to about half of what you got and has not been much above that for the last few weeks. You should try a pub in Scotland for a cold beer we have Tennats lager and Tennants Ice cold lovely pint.
