How long for PR on Spouse Visa?

Hi guys,

Having been here for two years on a Spouse Visa, I applied for PR a couple of months ago. Has anyone any idea how long Spouse Visa PR takes these days? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

No idea but I'll be doing the same as am married to an Aussie and so will then be applying for PR as soon as possible once able.

I thought it changed to 5 years before you could apply? I could be talking garbage of course,

I think you are thinking of citizenship. Like over in the UK, that is a 4 or 5 year wait.

 

A PR is iirc available after 2 years. Again, same as the UK.

2 years from the date of application for the first visa btw....

Thanks for your replies so far, but to clarify: I have been here for two years and have applied for Permanent Residency 2 months ago. I just wondered how long it would take to come through and if anyone has any idea. I am not applying for citizenship as I realise that is at least 4 years.

I got that but didn't know the answer I would think if its anything like the UK its done with 6-8 weeks or so.

 

Its not like its a massive thing and hubby had his sorted over here in the UK pretty quickly.
