Nurses uniforms here especially in the private sector resemble office wear so tailored trousers/ skirt and shortsleeved tailored blouse/shirt. A lot of the private hospitals make you buy your own and I remember going to buy mine when I worked at Ashford (I don't anymore) and it cost me $200 for 3 items - ouch. The public hospitals are similar with quite a tailored look but the saving grace being I know flinders have cargo pants with pockets. There appears to be a distinct lack of pockets for pens and keys in anything!

I work in mental health in Adelaide in a public hospital. There is no uniform but there is dress code which requires you to be smart but casual. Jeans and shorts are fine as long as they are not tatty and most people wear casual clothes. Similar to the UK

yes i think you have to dress according to the conditions. for the comminity it is wide brimmed hat, sun cream (and ice cream) plus shorts!

Being a pom I could not bring myself to scare the ozzies with my lilly white legs so i keep to my jeans and t/shirt/short shirt.
