Happy New Year to all of my personal encylopedia!! First question of 2011 :biglaugh:

Can anyone tell me where I can get runner bean seeds? Not dwarf/french or flat beans but 'proper' runner beans. I am sure the latin name is something like 'Phaseolus coccineus' or scarlet runners as they have lovely red flowers. All advice/pointers - as usual - gratefully received!

the Italians who grow these usually call these "Flat Beans", i think.

if they haven't got Scarlet Runners in The Central Market (-say, at Prettejohns) then try "Goodies And Grains " in the Market Precinct (off Gouger St)

..they have a good stock of open pollinated Eden Seeds.
