Can someone tell me - Beds

Hi there thought one of you would know the answer to this question - in the UK we had a kingsized bed and all the bedding etc which is somewhere on a ship! What size bedding and bed and bed do I buy here? Whats a queen - is that a UK king or I am just making the whole thing too complicated and is the king here the same as a king there. Am I making any sense??

we had an Australian Queen but my wife said only uk kingsize bedding fitted it ie the elasticated undersheet was far to small to stretch over

We bought an oz double and single mattress here, I brought the bedding form the UK, The sheets are slightly too small for both matresses, but they do go on just:skeptical:
