Aircreft emergency seats

Now you have to pay for the priviledge of being an extra pair of hands in an emergency (ie pay to sit in emergency exit seats), can we have two adults and a child sitting there? I can't see anything on the airlines website saying it has to be an adult anymore.

To sit in the emergency exit seats, you must be fit and be strong enough to help with the removal of the emergency exit doors. Depends how the child would cope if the unthinkable were to happen.

when i got upgraded to an emergency exit seat once.. they said we had to be strong enough to push the door out or open the door in general, something like that, when or if an emergency occurs. when i sat in those seats there were no children at the time.

I didn't think they allow children to sit in those seats. If you are wanting to know your specific airline, perhaps give them a call and ask directly so as to get an official answer. I know when we flew last year it was a no with BA and Qantas (and I think every other airline)
