Like you when when we arrived we had never rented either.

We produced written confermation of employment, all different types of ID, pics of our old house and dogs and a bank statement showing how much we had in the bank to show that we could pay the rent without any problems.

The pics of the house was because we have 2 dogs and they wanted to see of there was any damage and what state our old house was kept in because of the dogs lived inside.

Your short term rental will be a good source for a reference. This will be verbal.

When guests apply for a long term unfurnished rental the companies have a standard checklist and they phone to check on the suitability of tennants even though they may only have stayed for a few weeks. They ask about rent payment being on time, noise, disturbances, cleanliness and maintenance of the property etc.

That's good we are going to look at a short term for about 6 weeks so that we can have a good look around. Just need the visa and we can then look at booking this. Thanks Claire
