medicals referred

Well after waiting 3 weeks we have finally got some news. 3 of our medicals are ok and mine and my sons have been referred. We sent all the information needed at the time. My son had a sickness bug on the day of the meds which messed up one of his blood tests. He had it re-done and was fine. I have had a stiff back for the past 6 years and have been on medication and have high bp but apart from taking a few pills each day don't have any other problems. I sent full details of the specialists reports at the time of sending off medicals. So what happens now. What does referred mean. Will we have to have further tests etc. HELP!!! :arghh:

I just don't know what to think anymore. I was told that if we didn't supply enough information when medicals were sent over then the medicals could be referred. My son got the 'all clear' this end and I provided all the information of scans etc which didn't show any underlying cause for my backache. They had tons of information sent. I am feeling a little nervous now as we have been trying for this visa for over 3 years and still don't have visas. Hopefully they have all the information they need and are just double checking. Fingers crossed for us both!

Hi all, this is what i was told by my panel doctor, i cant garentee its true but have read the same on other forums.

When the panel doc assesses she/he writes you down as an A or B.

If its an A when they get to Sydney they are just processed as finalised.

If they are down as a B its becouse of an underlying or ongoing condition.

These B meds get refered so a propper doctor asseses them.

Once assesed they go back to finalised or they will ask for further information/reports ect.

We go ours refered on the 30th and they are currently checking 25-28th referals so its about a 4-6 week wait for the referals process.

The good news is im sure we will all be fine as its a common practace to refer meds.

The bad news is the waiting is a killer.

Take a look on POA, their is a thread about what people had and still got a visa with.

Makes our little problems look very trivial.

    Good luck all.

Hi iv read the other thread and yes it makes Ethans asd look very good. The problem is with asd as your probally aware its a very wide spectrum of what people can be like and do. Ethan luckily is mild most people dont know he has it and were just used to giving lots of info. e.g walking to school this morning had to go through what he was doing everyday for the next week or so due to changes to routine with bank holidays and he has sats exams coming up. Once he knows he is fine, Doc said he was a cat B we always knew he was going to get referred. Jaxndel im sure we will just be fine just gotta wait a bit longer than everybody else.

Try not to worry, easier said than done I know. Referred just means your report is getting a second pair of eyes to review things at a more senior level, the frustrating part is that it will take a few more weeks than others to get a visa, so more waiting!!!. Fingers crossed and that Visa notification will happen you least expect it Claire:)

Just another wall to climb over. I'm sure it will all be fine, its just the extra wait that will be a killer.

We all had our medicals yesterday in Edinburgh. Seemed to go all fine but who can tell!! No one was ill on the day, no one taking medication but I'm sure they will dig something up.

Hope you don't have to wait too long and that the results don't delay you too much.

It seems that 'med' are the biggest cause of delay, worry and stress - (not good when you have slightly high BP and white coat syndrome eithe)r.

Fingers crossed we get through ours OK next Friday

I am sure you will be fine. We knew straight away that there was a problem with my son's sample and I knew the minute they started asking about the painkillers I was on that I would have to get further information for them. I must say though that I do agree with how strict they are. Maybe our NHS system wouldn't be under so much pressure if we had similar rules etc. I am sure you will get your visas quickly and without any fuss.

    Hi Tizzer

We had ours done in Edinburgh on Friday. How quickly did you hear back with blood test results etc or do they just send them off if all is well?

To be honest we still have not heard. We were told to phone up after a week, which was friday gone. I phoned and left a message, waiting for someone to phone back, but nothing. Then again and again, only to find out the lady dealing with the medicals in admin had gone home. As you will understand, I was not best pleased. This may be an everyday thing to these people, but to us it is life and death.

I am going to chase again in the morning (monday ) to find out the results and if those results have been sent off or not.

I have a job to start in Adelaide in July and we are going on an employer sponsor so I need to know asap. House is sold and everyhting.
