hello, very nervous at the mo,got lots of different things buzzin round my head, got a case officer last week(already have SA sponsorship, visa lodged 23/11/10).Have booked medicals for 18th may, house is sold living in rented, but i just seem to have massive doubts not sure why, just scared of the unknown.

One question-how long do you get to validate your visa if it is granted.

    Thankyou

    Cheers Tracey

Hi Traysi and on behalf of all the mods on the forum welcome.

Anything you need to know can pretty much be found on here just ask ask away for anything.

You used to have 1 year from meds or police checks ( which ever was done first )to validate your VISA, we had to get longer on our after my mrs broke her leg we went and did her police check again and that gave us a bigger window ibn which to get her leg sorted so we could fly out here.

Hope this helps enjoy your stay with us...

Thank you, my husband is also a welder( boilermaker), but at present works on the railway, he is worried that the work might not pay what he is on at the moment, he would like to stay with the railway but i suppose we will have to look into it a bit more after our medicals.

It is a big thing... massive... but Australia is such a fab place! & it is really normal to get jitters, i'm sure everyone gets them!!! I know I have my moments :)

& yep... 1 year to validate your visa from the date of your meds or police certs whichever is sooner!!!

Always remember, if you dont want to make the move straight away you can validate your visa by going over for a reccie (holiday)... check things out & make sure you are doing the right thing!!!

    Good Luck Sx

Thank you so much, I think we are planning to validate and have a good look around, little bit worried though as we are using an agent and we did the police checks late last year and I work in a school so am governed by school holidays. I suppose it's a waiting game at the mo xxx

    Traysi,

What does your OH do on the Railway?

I work on the Railway and we are always looking for staff.

Also, Boilermakers are like 'hens teeth' so rare to get a good one.

There's loads of adverts looking for Boilermakers, we have lost a couple recently (left for more money)

OH should have no worries finding a job!

My hubby renews railtrack, he is an Nct operator maintainer, also his welding skills come in handy when repairs need doing. Thank you for your information.

No worries. Tell him to PM when you get over here.

We might have something for him on the railway or as a Boilermaker.
