    Afternoon,

well, medicals done on the 2nd june, by the 8th online status said received....now...we phoned the medical place (brum) to confirm everything had been uploaded. The said they havent uploaded anything!

They then said, they have all the results but wont upload until the 12th day has passed...i emailed my CO yesterday, who said she is waiting for medical clearances but i was asking about my youngest daughters status (says they havent received Birth Cert) etc

The medical centre wasnt going to upload anything because my daughter's specialist reports havent turned up, so we said upload the rest of them!

Thought doing the medicals by eHealth would have been easier, with the medical centre saying one thing and the diac / CO saying another.... :arghh:Ahhhhh LOL

Phew, got that off my chest :)

    Hi,

If I were you I would be reminding the health centre of the extra cash you paid to use ehealth! Keep on at them, hopefully not too long a wait now!

Can I ask how much the meds cost? Is it more expensive to use E-health?

    Hi Chris

In your shoes, I would phone the Health Operations Centre in Sydney on 0061 - 28- 566 - 5777 and ask them what is going on. As far as I know, all of the medical stuff still goes to the HOC because all of the Medical Officer of the Commonwealth doctors are based at the HOC.

From what you say, there might be a query about your daughter's Health for migration purposes, in which case the documents have to go to the MOC doctors and then the MOC doctors "advise" the Minister for Immi, technically.

E-Health depends on computers. I don't trust my computer to pick up my post from the floor and read it, and I don't even depend on the thing to do anything technologically complicated!

Also, what sort of file(s) did you use for your daughter's specialist medical reports? I would consider it "tidy" to put everything relating to her into a Winzip folder and then just send the folder. However, the DIAC computer is violently allergic to Winzip folders, for reasons I don't understand but the DIAC computer hates them and sends them straight to Valhalla.

    Does this help, please?

    Cheers

    Gill

    Hi Gill,

well, we are having to put the visa on hold..on the 20th my daughter was hit by a car right outside the house, i was first on the scene - shes was in critcial condition on monday. She was in intensive care until thursday, so it's been along week.

she has a fractured skull, neck, leg, hip and no movement from her left side...the list goes on, so lucky to be alive (strange thing is, just checked my diac status and all medicals except my daughters were finalised on the 20th)

I'm going to email diac to make them aware of the situation, as the consultant doing the report is not going to do the report for them until they work out whats going on with her.

    Thanks for the info

    Regards

    Hi Chris

If you have time to read this, I am appalled - and so very, very sorry - to read this shocking news. I do hope that everything will be OK and I am sure that everyone on here will be hoping that the child will make a complete recovery before long.

You will find that DIAC are brilliant in this sort of situation. They are always very understanding, very sympathetic and they will just put your visa application on hold indefinitely, to give you the peace and space in which to deal with the things that are far moore important right now.

Please let us have a progress report when you can? (About your daughter, not your visa! Your visa application is irrelevant for the time being!)

    Be strong.

    Hi Gill,

well, its been a long two weeks! my daughter is getting better...slowly...shes going to be in the hospital for some weeks due to the fractures, but her spirits are high.

I've asked my agent to contact diac and let them know the situation, which i hope he has done.

    Thanks

    Hi Gill,

Well its been a long journey with my daughter, shes now out of hospital and house has been adapted. she is doing very well, just learning to walk again.

i must say, diac have been brilliant and understanding...kinda out of the blue we got an email from the panel doctors saying they have uploaded a report diac have been waiting for (as on the day of the accident we passed our medicals except my daughter).

    The following day, we got an email from my agent asking for the following;

A current assessment from a specialist Paediatrician and/or developmental Psychologist is required regarding applicant's cognitive and developmental status. Please forward a report addressing history, physical examination findings, diagnosis, full details of psychological testing, developmental milestones (such as Denver or Griffiths scale) and a developmental age/IQ assessment. If a school report is available please forward this. Please indicate the ability to perform activities of daily living. The report should address the need for special schooling and the prognosis for independent living and future employment in adulthood

So emailed the panel and just waiting for them to get in touch to see where we go.

    Fingers are crossed.

    Hope all is well :)

    Regards

    Hi All,

Just an update, got the report they requested on the earlier post and then they sent the following:

    • The report provided by Dr Ma dated 9 November 2011 has been received with thanks. In the report Dr Ma has indicated that the visa applicant was involved in a serious road traffic accident sometime between June and November this year with resultant injuries of a significant nature including being wheel chair bound and incontinent of urine and faeces following brain and pelvic surgery. A current assessment is required from a treating doctor/specialist regarding the applicant's physical condition as described above please. Please provide a report addressing history, physical examination findings, diagnosis, management needs for the next five years and prognosis. Thank you.

So...i went back to my daughters consultant who wrote a wonderful report and passed it to the panel doctor (who read it a week later) then said some things needed changing.

Ok, it went over to the consultant again to add the bits missing and i fired it off to the panel doctor....(which i think only works 1 day a week) to send onto the MOC..Geez

hope they send it this week, Just want it over and done with now, so we can get on with life

    Regards

    Chris

well, turns out the panel doctor didnt upload it (he could not see the upload button on the eHealth), so rang the medical centre and spoke to them, they eventually uploaded the reports. (It would have been a good idea if they let me know they hadnt uploaded or if there was a problem as that would have saved acouple of days)

Online checker is now showing as refered on the 13th...so off they have gone to the HOC to be checked.

i've gone through the reports and they look very positive for what my daughters been through!

    More waiting :(

    Hi Chris

    Like you say, fingers crossed.

Are your daughter's doctors expecting that she will make a full recovery quite soon? If yes, have they stated this firmly to the MOC, do you know?

    Cheers

    Hi Gill.

Yes the reports they sent we positive and clearly stated that she will be fully walking in a couple of months which was confirmed by a profesor in some top hospital in london...the MRI scans confirmed no damage to her spinal. We are paying private for physio for her and shes walking in a fashion..and building up strength in her legs.

They said the injury to the brain has actual helped her in a way as shes more happy and we have noticed how much shes come out of her shell...sounds bad but everyone has commented on how much shes changed for the better.

I think this is the break we need after all that we have been through :)

i will post if i hear anything.

    Hi Chris

It does sound to me as if your daughter's doctors have said all the right things and the MOC probably realises that it would be a good thing to get her out to Australia, where she can be outside more, can regain her strength and has a chance to try to forget all the bad things that have happened to her recently.

Even the Aussie Prime Minister (she is of the Strine Twang that is so exaggerated that it infuriates me every time I listen to the woman) brags that she only went to Australia because her parents took her there when she was 4 years old. Apparently she lived in Barry, which is a port in the Bristol Channel. In the 1960s, when Joolya was 4, Barry was a damp, dirty hole of a place because most of the coal from South Wales was still leaving Wales via Barry back then. Apparently Joolya had very bad asthma - probably made worse by living in a home heated only by coal fires. The Welsh doctors apparently said that they thought the climate in Oz would be better for Joolya.

According to my sister, who lives in Perth, the Welsh doctors should have been throttled because Australia hasn't committed enough evils for it to deserve Joolya!

Just keep your own daughter away from politics, I would suggest! Apparently Joolya's own father held very left-wing political views etc, which seems to have inspired Joolya to imagine that she would be a blessing to the Antipodean continent!

"Don't let Joolya foolya," as the tee-shirts say!

    Cheers

    Gill
