Rental - How long?

Can anyone please advise what is the average rental lease? Ideally we would like a 6 month rental and not be tied into a 12 month contract - Are there many 6 month rentals available? looking at Aberfoyle Park/ Happy Valley/ Flagstaff Hill.

I work for a realestate agent in the Flagstaff Hill area and most rentals are usually 12 months.

Having said that the odd Landlord may be looking at 6 months options so keep your eyes peeled and always ask, a Landlord would rather have a tenant in for 6 months than no tenant at all. You could always lease for 6 months with a view to extending to 12 depending on your situation at the time.This may secure it for you.....

Can anyone help? We were in Christies Beach in the 60's and we are coming to stay 21 Dec - 4 of Jan,is it still nice there? or is Glenalg better for children? Anyone know of a house to rent near the sea? Thanks
