Well done Cadel!

Can't believe no-one has yet mentioned the amazing achievement of Cadel Evans being the first Australian ever to win the Tour de France! So glad he didn't come second again, or he'd have been feeling the "three times the bridesmaid, never a bride" feeling, and unlike a lot of aussie sportsmen (ahem, Ricky Ponting, ahem) he comes across as a genuinely nice guy, who always gives credit to his team mates rather than taking it all for himself.

Fingers crossed he comes to Adelaide for the Tour Downunder here in 2012.

I personally don't like the guy (not sure why just the way he comes across..)

Anyhow it is an amazing achievement for him and his team, been forced to watch all week by the OH. They are amazing athletes all of them. I really hope he does come down to the TDU I love getting out and photographing them but if he comes too then I will have to camp out for hours to get the best shot lol but it would be worth it

O yeah, we are thrilled in our house. Hubby said it makes up for all the losses in other sports in recent years. He reckons its as big as the Americas Cup win and the RWC. I loved what Bob Hawke said of the Americas Cup win. ‘Any boss who sacks a worker for not turning up today is a bum.’

Hubby was glued and was sneaking watching it on his iPhone while he was off the field during his cricket match
