Just to say to folks that we ahev strted our 176 and paid the 1st installment. It appeared on the website thatw e had to complete the medicals and I found information on DIAC's website to support this, however I got an email on Monday confirming the application and providing further information. You do have to wait until you have a case officer to apply for your medicals and police checks. I also uploaded my TRN No (you get this as soon as you have paid) onto the immigration website and got an alomost instant response to say the Form 1100 had been sent to DIAC. You do only have 28 days however to upload all you documents. As we are not married we are required to provide quite a lot of additional information to prove the relationship and a signed (by Solicitor or Justice of the Peace) declaration. You also have to complete the forms 80EH & 1221 which requires quite a lot of historical data about all previous passports, trips to Australia and last 10 years worth of travel, addresses etc. You can have a look at these on DIAC's website http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms but suggest you have a look sooner rather than later to find out if you have all the required information to hand...it requires quite a lot of work, particulary if you have done lots of travelling. We are off on holiday soon so we don't really have 28 days to play with ! If anyone has any questions about the initial stage of the 176 I'm happy to try and answer them. Good luck to everyone, but I think this is definately the long bit...still hopeful that we get a decision before Dec! Check out this page on DIAC...suggest all visa applied for before 20 July 2011 have a case officer...assuming there is not too much of a back log at the moment which will hopefully mean we will be processed reasonably quickly.

Eclare I have been trying to add my partner to the 176 application but I cannot... I am trying to do it in the page for Add Migrating Dependants but in the area for Relationship to You, the options dont include wife, partner, husband etc...how did you do it or is there somewhere else where to add your wife or partner on the 176 application ?

Hi all, exciting times. Not sure where the partner is added but I managed to do it without any difficulty...once you hvae completed a page you can move back and forth so its possible partner/spouse details are on a page after migrating dependants (is this for the kids only). Sorry can't help more but obviously I'm beyond that stage now.

As with processing time it was indicated that Category 3, 176 applicants are currently being assigend a case officer within 2 weeks of DAIC having received confirmation of the sponsorship status (on a lodged visa). Suggest you have all your docs ready asap. I can hardly breath...don't want to get too excited in case this all changes!

Hi, this is my first post on this forum though I've been checking these pages for a long time now. I am an aspirant too..Got +ve skills assessment, IELTS too done, applied for SS. Applied online on 5th Aug, docs received on 9th Aug and on 10th Aug my status changed to "Application Decision Immigration SA is unable to provide an indication of processing times. Keep monitoring this page and your e-mail for the decision on your application.". TO my bad luck the availabiity changed to medium on the day I applied online, i.e. on 5th Aug and yesterday, 10th Aug, it changed to low. It's almost at the same time that my status changed to what is qouted above. Can anybody tell me, wht this indicates? Does it indicate my application has been picked and it's being processed and I'm kind of safe? The qouta could reach planning level anytime tomorrow or early next as the tend indicates. This is a bi big dilemma. I just pray that things go fine. All the best to all of you guys who are awaiting results.

Hi adelaide1937,

It is a tight situation n nobody except SA immigration can tell what is going on. I can feel you and hope you are safe. One thing I am sure about is that they will decide at the point when they look into one application, not at the time when online application/ docs received.

My guess is you are safe by a tight margin. Fingers crossed.

Big Bob, you can also update my job to Developer Programmer. My partner is the main applicant, too. With Low availability God knows whether we get the Sponsorship. We were cancelled last year because of July changes, it would be really bad luck :/

Lenore

Lot of developer programmer people are in tight spot but since you has applied 2 weeks back I would say you still have bright chances...Believe me...Thats why I started collating all information about professions from all with SMP application date so that at least we have some clarification... You talking about July Changes...I will tell you my story...

Feb 2010: Applied ACS

July 2010: +ve Assessment in ASCO Code 223179 (Internet/Firewall/CISSP) ( Could have launched 175 but rules changed from July 1 and Visa applications were frozen for 2 months)

Rules changed from July 1 2010

Waited for State Sponsored Lists as now occupation in SOL 4 and needed State Sponsorship

Applied Victoria State Sponsorship November 2010

Waited 5 months and all winter and spring passed with just refreshing mail everyday then 1 day

Victoria Rejected :April 2011 Reason:Eligible but NO DEMAND

ACS Reapplied:April 2011 ICT Security Specialist

ACT Sponsorship Applied : April 2011

ACT Closed ICT applications : July 1 2011

ACS Assessment Received : July 28 2011

Applied SA Sponsorship : July 28 2011

Now: I am here with you all and still optimistic...things will go worse but keep on hanging... that's the key
