Anyone flown Malaysian Air recently? What did you think? Did you get 40kg? also does the internal uk carrier (Manchester to London) honour the 40kg???

    Thanks all

We flew Malaysia when we went back to England in March to get married, They were fantastic. we carried a wedding dress on board and they put it in a wardrobe for us and looked after it very well. we sat at the front of economy and were last on and first off the planes, there was plenty of legroom and the meals were pretty good for airline food.

Kuala Lumpur airport is very nice with plenty of shops and places to eat (cheap too)

The only problem we had was one of our suitcases got damaged but we didn't realise until we got home. Phoned Malaysia air and the told us it wasn't there responsibility and to contact the airport. phoned Adelaide airport and they wouldn't do anything unless we took the suitcase back to the airport (we live in Aldinga) and then it would only be repaired and not replaced.

Cant help with the luggage allowance but hope the review helps.

The internal carrier will only honour it if its booked as part of the whole trip and you would need to say at the time of booking that you require the 40kg allowance or you will not get it.I have flown with Malaysia quite a few time and have booked with them in october for a trip back home, Never had any problems with them prity good.

I would check with the airline directly as to if they give the 40kg luggage allowance to people holding the correct unvalidated visa. Only a handful of airlines do this now and some are reviewing it due to costs.

Excess luggage won't be honoured by the domestic carrier from Manchester to London unless its part of the booking as explained above. And even then I'd be wary unless you have it confirmed in print etc. Carriers like Easy Jet and those ones generally won't honour that sort of thing.
