4 new permanent australian residents!!!

After nearly 5 years of applications, soul searching, living in limbo and more money than I care to remember... we finally got our 887 granted yesterday!!! Our situation was made even more stressful by a house sale riding on us getting perm residence quickly enough so this is fantastic news.

 

The many people who have helped us along the way are very much appreciated including some really helpful people in places where you would have expected them to not have a lot of compassion left. The Medibank staff in Adelaide were amazingly helpful yesterday working is some really quite horrible conditions. Our Case Officer in Brisbane rang Graham personally yesterday to tell him of the Grant after knowing about our situation. There are some really decent people out there.

 

SO here we are, just about to complete on our first Australian home (first house we have bought together after 10 years and 2 kids!!) loving it more all the time, flourishing careers and with an amazing bunch of people around us (you know who you are!).

 

So to all those starting/mid process it is long, hard, and sometimes you want to run away screaming but you do get there in the end with dogged perserverence and an amount of luck - and is it worth it?? YES every grey hair!!
