Our medicals were all sent and arrived in Sydney last week Wednesday. We had 4 additional letters done. 2 for my kids due to being born premature (12 and 5 years ago), one for my hubby due to high BMI and mine due to Insulin Resistance (No diabetes, Hypertension or anything else). Since Friday my hubby's has been listed as medicals received and medicals met, but mine and the kids are sitting as medicals referred and still outstanding. Anyone have any ideas why this would be and should I be worried about something?

    Thanks

Try not to worry. My boys meds were referred for nearly four months and they asked for an extra report but once that was recieved they passed within the week. I was pulling my hair out and i think we hold the record for the longest Meds referred lol. Hopefully you wont wait too long.

Thanks Janice..We supplied extra reports JIC from the pedi. Both my kids have no issues whatsoever. Mine, I do have slight issues but main issue is weight due to polycystic ovarian syndrome (but now identified and am on glucophage for it..which is not an expensive med..about $10 a month)..I also added a specialists report for that. I could understand if it was just mine, but my kids shouldn't be. Anyway guess we just sit and wait it out...

    Thanks for the reply

The med would have been referred just because you supplied extra reports. Try not to worry i know its not easy but you will be fine.

Our daughters was initially referred as she was born premature and had had cardiac issues for which we had included reports from the paediatrician and cardiologist. I actually questioned it as she was discharged from them at the time of the medical and was told it was only referred as there was extra information that had to be reviewed before it would go any further but this didn't mean there was a problem. They are always referred if they are not just a simple pass if you get what I mean. High BMI and your issues shouldn't be a problem as long as you are unlikely to be a drain on the Australian health service and that you are able to be useful to society.

Hope this helps a bit, please don't worry if everyone is essentially healthy and ok
