    Hi

does anyone know of any accommodation in Adelaide close to the CBD which is furnished from 12th September. Or holiday homes. Having real problems acquiring somewhere and agents are telling me they won't let me do it till I see somewhere in person. Which I don't want to leave till I get there last minute for obvious reasons. My furniture wont arrive in for some time so need furnished. I'm starting I stress about it now and. Don't know where to turn I what to do :(

I can't help but i will be in the same position as you next year. I.ve Googled short term furnished holiday rentals and OMG they are expensive! Plus there aren't that many north east of the city which is where i will need and we need a 4 bedroom place. Most seen to be 2 or 3. There just won't be enough room at my mum.s for all of us and i.m not sure whether we.ll be able to secure a normal rental property whilst we are here. What do people do? I know i.ll be stressing too next year! Good luck x x

Hi we are currently renting a fully furnished house in Eastwood. It is a really nice area very close the city, two minute walk to the bus stop on Glen Osmond Road and a small park across the road. The house has two beds and a small garden. The owner is really friendly and helpful. I'm not sure how to post a link but google The Guesthouse in Eastwood and it should come up.

Most people rent somewhere short term before their arrival, then use the first few weeks to find somewhere more long-term. There are a couple of people I know that have short term furnished properties nearer the centre and in the north - one of those is Rachel on here who has a place in or near Port Adelaide from what I remember ( http://www.pomsinadelaide.com/forum/member.php?u=4261) and the other is Donna Jacobs (http://www.pomsinadelaide.com/forum/member.php?u=636) who acts as manager on behalf of several owners - I know she has a place in Mawson Lakes which might do you to start with, Katangel - even if it is only 2/3 bedrooms, it's just a place to sleep while you do the rounds of the Opens for longer term places.

Long term furnished rentals are the exceptions here, rather than the rule, so it might be a matter of finding an unfurnished place of the right size, in the right place, at the right budget, then borrowing furniture (many lovely people on here are happy to loan stuff out) or renting from somewhere like Radio Rentals, until your own stuff arrives.

Oh, it's also worth doing a search on http://www.domain.com.au - this is a competitor site to http://www.realestate.com.au but has the advantage of a "search" feature - put in "furnished" as a search term and at least some of the places that come up will be furnished places (unfortunately it doesn't drop those entries that include the phrase "not furnished" though so you have to read through each one!)

Also you could try stayz.com.au. Comtact the owners for quotes as some will give discounts for longer term stays, especially in the low season. We've found a couple of good places through this site before now, although usually for holidays.
