Hello - Nursing and migration help needed

Hi to everyone. Found myself on this forum while trying to research about migrating to Australia. I am currently doing my diploma in nursing and due to qualify March, 2013. I have got a couple of questions on migrating to Australia and I will be glad if anyone can respond to them.

    1. Is it possible to move immediately after qualification or it is advisable to get a bit of experience in UK first?

    2. I gathered that after age 44, one is no longer eligible to migrate to Australia under the skilled worker. I am an adult student, 42 years at the moment. I will like to know if age will work against my plans.

    3. From your experience, please I will like to know if migrating to Australia is a good idea, considering the quality of life compared to UK. Looking at it in the area of family life, salary, accommodation and how roomy they are, working conditions etc.

    4. I am looking at starting my degree with Open University come October 2013. If I am eligible to start the immigration process without work experience, is it advisable to forget about getting on to the degree programme and later pursue that while in Australia; or I should go for my degree while gaining experience at the same time before migrating?

I will really appreciate any advice given on these issues. Thanks a lot.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I don't know much about the nursing aspect but over on our sister site Poms in Oz there are a couple of big threads about nursing that might be of use to you to get you started. I am sure some nurses or those with some understanding of how it all works will be along soon.
