would it be worth while selling our house in the beautiful coromandel valley privately to save costs to us and the buyer, we are taking off and travelling around Australia late next year, could include all furniture or partial , we would also have two late model cars for sale and even a jayco expanda caravan (need a bigger one for our travels) our house is 3bedrooms and office or 4th bedroom, 2 living areas, ensuite and walk in robe, ensuite for the other two bedrooms ,a theatre room, spa pool and swimming pool ...list would go on...would like to here your views on this....

It depends if you plan to return or not I'd say. If you only plan on being gone a year or two, rent it out when you are ready to go. If you are not planning to return to Adelaide or are wanting to settle somewhere else afterwards, consider selling. You could rent either way and sell at the end or once you know what you are doing. If you need to sell it to finance your travel, then its pretty clear cut isn't it.

 

If you can afford to cover any missed rent or if it stands empty for a bit and you want to keep it, then keep it.

 

TBH I think its down to your personal preference and what your finances can afford.
