What is the process for creating an ABN ?

Hi all,

I want to start a business by myself. Primarily I will be working all by myself and will outsource some works and later I will hire employees.

Any idea what would be the ideal process for me to create an ABN ? Is there any paperwork[audit report or something like that] required ?

You can register an ABN on the Australian Taxation website.

The link is http://www.ato.gov.au

Click on the blue box on top left and you will find the ABN registration on the left.
