Hotels Recommendation - Adelaide City

Hi all, we arrive in Adelaide on Friday 19th April at 9am. We need a one night stay on the Friday as our rental is not available until the Saturday morning. On looking through I am struggling to find a reasonable hotel that can accommodate a family of 4 on this date - the problem I am finding is that we cannot check in until 2pm but we will be wanting to get straight to our room after the flight to shower and rest.

Can anyone recommed a city centre location ideally, as we want to be able to have a walk around and get a feel for the place - a hotel that has an earlier check in or which anyone has used and can recommed please. I have just spent the last hour looking through all these hotel booking sites and still not found anything with an early check in

:arghh:

You might need to book the previous night as well to guarantee an earlier check in. Try to get one of those groupon voucher deals although there is no guaranteee you will get the nights you want. I think Diane used to buy these on a regular basis and she might be able to point you in the right direction.

We went to Adelaide to validate our VISA's and stayed in the Crowne Plaza. We arrived really early on the morning or our stay and they checked us in fine. Can recommend them for a night.

For most of the big hotels, unless the room is already occupied the previous night and needs cleaning, they will let you check in as soon as you arrive.

At the Hilton, they kept the baggage behind the desk and called me when the rooms were cleaned. This enabled me to take my family around the city for a couple hours, but reality is they called only an hour after we left to go walkies.

We stayed at the Hilton for our first night. Arrived at the hotel at 7am & they let us check in about 9. There are showers & a pool you can use while you wait for your room to be ready. And plenty of places to sit & rest & drink coffee in the reception areas.

The Oaks at Glenelg is fairly priced, (apartment accommodation so better amount of personal space) get the tram into ADL if you want to go (20mins max) but I think after you arrive you will just want to sleep! If you have children it will be more easy to let them just romp on the beach, uncrease the kinks and release some pent up energy and the Oaks is right by the beach. In the early days just let yourselves go with the flow, plenty to absorb at G. lovely restaurants, walks, marina and so on. Hope you have a great time

We stayed at Rydges Hotel, landed at 6am, they stored luggage, brekkie at hotel and got into room about 9am. They were really helpful and would recommend. Located on outskirts of city so nice and quiet to get some sleep!!!
