Well, just seen a huge plume of smoke coming from down south.

It's on Willunga Hill heading south.

Fingers crossed no one is hurt or property damaged.

To keep an eye on it look at the CFS site under current incidents................. http://www.cfs.org.au/

I hate these hot and windy days, there are always fires.

Thanks Tyke, the school were making preparations this morning which was a little scary. These winds aren't helping either - are they normal for this time of year??

No this weather is unusual, but it can be hot right up to April, well not this hot, but high 20s, low 30s and usually much cooler at night. Add that to the drought conditions, hot northerly winds and you have bushfire weather. The bushfire season normally ends in April and you can have your bonfires and bbqs(flame ones) again, but I think this yr ut will be extended until the weather breaks and there has been decent rain.
