[h=2]Q's Preschool and Kindergarten: CONFUSED :S[/h]

Hi all

Im new to this site and right at the start of applying for a visa. We are looking to go in 2-3 years time when my children will be 3 and 4. On average how much does kindergarten cost per day/week? And in Adelaide do they give a certain free amount of sessions at pre-school like they do in the uk?

Many thanks in advance for any help

Sorry looking through old threads seeing if I cna help and found yours. Have you discovered the answer yet? Anyhow Preschool or kindergarten here is not compulsory and currently it's from age 4yrs and you are entitled to 15hours a week. Each kindy has varring costs depending on what they cover, i.e. lunch cover.

As of 2014 they will have single intake more info here http://www.webchild.com.au/adelaideschild/stories/single-intake-for-schools

So your youngest child will need to be in some sort of day care again cost vary but if your PR visa holder you will get benefits from Centre link

and

Centrelink and info here

Good luck with the move

hi, my son goes to montessori, the daily rate for there is 70 dollars, and that's all day from 8 thru to 5 if you need it, you do get some help from centering but it defends on how much your annual combined salary is as to how much centrelink contribute to the cost, other day care centres charge roughly the same amount, when your child is 4 they can attend school kindy, attached to the main primary school where you live, this i believe is cheapest not sure, someone else can prob clarify those costs for you, but as far as i know there are no n free sessions (someone again can confirm this as not 100% sure) basically there is help towards fees etc but all kinda means tested on your own individual circumstances, hope this helps somewhat ;-)
