Exchange Rate

If the exchange plummets further, say below 1.35, would it give you second thoughts on the move?

It certainly will make me keep the bulk of my money in GBP's until it changes. Surely it cannot keep dropping though, it's very near historical lows, so fingers crossed we are nearly bottomed out.

Lot's of people said this when it started to rapidly dip below $2.50!!!!

    This rate is really awful.

You really need as many bucks under your belt as possible coming here now!

I have an old mate who came out on 1 to 1 years ago!!!!!

Well I think it will spiral down now as the UK credit rating has been downgraded from AAA to Aa1 :-(((

Times are only going to get tougher me thinks!

The exchange rate obviously makes a big difference, but then there are variations over here that can contribute as well to your financial situation.

We came over 6 years ago and rented for the first year while we found our feet and worked out where we wanted to live. At the time we found the house we wanted to buy, Adelaide experienced a housing boom and property prices went up on average by 21%. In the 6 years we have been here our mortgage rate has got as high as 9.14%, but has now dropped considerably, and petrol has varied from $1 up to $1.70 a litre.

Everything is up and down, it is enough to send you dizzy ha ha!
