    Nope, no aldi.

It depends on what you like and your budget really. I'm a Coles and local veggie shop girl, but other people prefer butchers etc. depends in that time you have for shopping too.

    Hi there,

The 3 main supermarkets are Coles, Woolworths and Foodland (IGA independant grocers association). Mostly they open from early 6 or 7 ish until about 9pm during the week, 9-5 Sat and 11-5 Sun. Coles and Woolworths have most of the market, so some people shop Foodland (IGA) as a conscience move.

If you google Yellowpages.com.au and search for supermarkets in Henley Beach SA you will see the addresses.

This is probably your best bet for the essentials you need on arrival. until you have time to compare prices in your local shops.

I think your local big shopping centre may be West Lakes or Centro Arndale where you will find supermarkets and also all the shops you expect in a shopping centre. For bigger go Marion shopping centre.

Once you have settled, you can check out the Central Market in Grote St, in the City. You will find lovely fresh produce at a better price with lots of choice. There are also asian supermarkets in this area where you may find goods cheaper.

    Enjoy hunting

Closest grocery discount store to Aldi in Adelaide would be the Rite Price chain http://www.ritepricegroceries.com.au/Rite%20Price%20-%20Locations.html

This place has some great savings, we always buy cans of coke etc here as cheepest we've found by far, but watch the dates on things we picked something up in there a few weeks ago best before date was 2009!!!

For Henley Beach there's a Foodland at Henley Square, a Foodland at Fulham Gardens and a Woolworths in Harbour Town, there are also a couple of other cornershop type Foodlands on the way to Henley Beach so it depends on what you're after - if it's just a pick up on your way to your accommodation for milk etc you'll easily find somewhere to stop off. But as others have said once you've settled a bit it's worth moving around (shopwise) and seeing what suits you best because there's lots of choice - most of it good.

There's also a fantastic Asian grocery on Henley Beach Road - I think at Torrensville. It's definitely a cheaper option for any Asian ingredients plus fresh herbs, veggies etc.
