We are shortly moving into a 12 month rental and wondered what the best deals are for broadband/tv/telephone packages and utilities. Nearly all of the deals are for 24 months any help would be most appreciated

    Thanks in Advance

We pay about $35 a month for phone line rental and calls with Telstra, about $40 a month for Internet with Adam Internet and nothing for TV. We don't make many calls so our telephone package doesn't include free calls but local calls are cheap anyway and international calls are $1 for 10 minutes. The Internet is a two year deal but you can take it with you when you move house. Not sure about the phone, but I think it is the same. For TV we have a set top box with two tuners and a hard drive that allows us to record two program's at the same time or watch one while recording another. We can also pause and rewind live TV. Can't watch movies or catch up TV but you can copy files over from your computer so if you have a movie file on your computer (obtained legally of course) you could copy it to the box to watch it on the TV.

To add I'm not sure if you are on Foxtel/Austar down there but you can get special deals at certain times of the year where you are not locked in to any contract.
