If you were moving again what would you do differently?

Hi everyone, I'm originally from Adelaide, moving back home after 14 years in London. Came over with a back pack and will be returning with my OH and a baby. I'm trying to make sure I avoid any mistakes before leaving uk, eg transferring pensions etc. any advice greatly appreciated

We landed with just a suitcase each and i wish we had brought a container.

I was surprised how much we needed to buy again. All my Pyrex bowls, pans, knives, sieves etc, you don't really itemise everything when working out what you need to buy on arrival.

There were plenty of goods that I should have packed into a container and brought with me as they were so expensive to replace when we arrived.

One of the biggest regrets / mistakes that we made was to use a bank to transfer funds here. We received a terrible exchange rate and if I could do it again I would certainly use one of the currency specialists like Moneycorp as it would have been so much easier and would have provided a far better rate of exchange and more funds in my pocket!
